Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Summery ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Beta service

Summery is currently provided as a beta service. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. The Service is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and resident in the United States to use the Service.

4. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication in Settings.

5. Permitted use

You may connect only financial accounts that belong to you and for which you have authority to share data. You may not attempt to access another user's data, probe the Service for vulnerabilities without permission, or use the Service to violate any law.

6. Plaid

Bank connections are powered by Plaid. By connecting an account you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

7. Estimates only — not financial advice

All figures shown in the Service — including but not limited to the daily spending number, remaining budget, expected income, and projected balances — are estimates based on data retrieved from your connected financial accounts. These estimates may be inaccurate due to pending transactions, bank processing delays, syncing errors, incorrect account setup, data provided by third-party services such as Plaid, or other factors outside our control.

You are solely responsible for your spending decisions. Summery does not guarantee the accuracy of any figure displayed. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Do not rely on Summery as the sole basis for any financial decision. Always verify your actual account balances directly with your financial institution before making significant purchases or payments.

8. Third-party data accuracy

Summery retrieves transaction and account data from third-party providers including Plaid. This data may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. Pending transactions may appear, disappear, or change amount before they settle. We are not responsible for inaccuracies originating from your bank or any third-party data provider. Always confirm your balance and recent transactions directly with your financial institution.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, harm the Service, or create legal risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Summery and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to financial losses, overdraft fees, missed payments, or any other harm arising from reliance on spending estimates or other figures displayed in the Service — regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable or whether Summery was advised of the possibility of such damages. Your use of the Service and any reliance on its estimates is entirely at your own risk.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
